The reason for the background was because the DIV is supposed to have kind of a vintage feel to it....

hey. thanks for the commment. it was my first div so it isn't the best. and i tried to fix my navigation but it wasn't working right. im not exactly sure why my nav is pixelated but ill work on it. but thanks again for the comment.
